GYM TOTS
Session duration 45 minutes
Suitable for children who are between the ages of 18 months to four years old. At four parents may wish to place their child in our bronze classes or continue in gym tots until they feel ready to do a fully coached session.
Gym Tots is primarily a parent/toddler group with parents escorting their toddlers around our fantastic gymnastic apparatus specific to this age group. The apparatus consists of climbing frames, inclined wedges for rolling, balance benches and beams, trampolines, trampettes, agility boards, foam shapes, toys and a large foam pitted area to land in total safety. All this is under the supervision of a qualified British Gymnastics Coach. Half way through the session the coach will gather the group and go through a series of activities and exercises to help the children progress with their coordination and fitness levels. The children will also have the chance to gain their first achievement badges and certificates as they pass selected skills.

BRONZE  LEVEL
Session duration 1 hour
This is the introductory level in our gymnastics programme where children will receive high activity tuition for one hour from our qualified British Gymnastics Coaches. We have a special teaching gym for this level but there are occasions, especially on Saturday mornings when we use the larger gymnasium. Both are secure, safe gymnastic environments where parents are encouraged to stay and watch and are sometimes on hand to give the coach help with some of the activities in a supervisory role. Basic gymnastic skills are taught including different shapes, balances and agilities necessary to give the children the building blocks for their future. We are also very keen to engage the children in a fitness regime ideal to help combat the modern day trend of less exercise in children’s lives. BGA badges from level 6 to 4 challenge the gymnasts at this stage and the coach will award these to the successful young gymnasts when they have achieved each level. The gymnasts will also get the chance to enjoy our trampolines, trampettes and agility boards, landing into our safety foam pits.

The coach will indicate when your child is ready to move on to the next stage in our programme. This will be our silver level of gymnastics proficiency.
